Dr. Gentemann earned the following degrees: Ph.D. and M.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Pittsburgh, and an AB in Social Sciences from Webster University (St. Louis).

She is past president of the Southern Association for Institutional Research and the Virginia Assessment Group. She has served as a member of numerous site visitation teams for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools, the regional accrediting association for higher education institutions. Her publications have been in the areas of assessment, institutional effectiveness, minority education, energy policy and domestic violence.

Dr. Zhou earned the following degrees: Ph.D. in Higher Education and M.Ed. in Instructional Systems from the Pennsylvania State University, and a BA in English from Beijing Foreign Studies University (China). Before she joined OIA in Sept. 2003, she worked as a research assistant at the Center for the Study of Higher Education of Penn State. Her research has been in the areas of faculty retention, faculty satisfaction, student satisfaction, and student learning outcomes.

Mary graduated from Georgetown University with a BS and MS in Foreign Service, and has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University. She has completed her Ph.D. course work at George Mason in Higher Education Administration, and plans a dissertation on assessment of students' critical thinking. Before becoming an educator, she worked for the Agency for International Development. Mary has been in education for over 20 years, teaching at every level K-12 through college. She was also Director of Training for the Peace Corps in the Czech Republic and taught history in the Fairfax system, at NVCC, and Marymount University. Mary was also a learning specialist in Marymounts learning center. Her last job before coming to OIA was 3 years as Director of Undergraduate Academic Programs in the GMU's College of Arts and Sciences.

Rawa has a MS in Applied Computer Science from Frostburg State University and a BS in Computer Science from Baghdad University. Before joining OIA, Rawa worked as a Web Developer and as a Cultural Advisor. Rawa also worked as a Software Developer in Tunisia.

Karen received her B.S. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland University College. Before joining OIA, Karen worked for the Department of Homeland Security - FEMA as a Disaster Assistance Employee on the Gulf Coast. She also spent several years as a Field Representative for the University of Maryland's European Division in Germany.
